Learning & Development Facilitator (Volunteer)

St Peters House Project provides a community outreach support service across West Sussex for people living with HIV. We aim to promote holistic well-being, social welfare and personal development for our clients. We welcome people from all social and cultural backgrounds to join us as volunteers.

Role Summary

As a volunteer, you'll be helping us to deliver our Education, Training, Volunteering & Employment Project to promote learning and personal development for our clients.

You'll be working with frontline staff and other volunteers to facilitate a range of personal development activities for our clients, many of whom have a high level of health and social welfare needs due to HIV.

Your role could involve delivering 1-to-1 computer lessons, coaching job search skills, information gathering, providing advice/support for course enrolment/funding applications, supporting group training sessions and liaising with agencies.

Locations

West Sussex including Horsham, Crawley, Worthing, Littlehampton and Chichester.

Travelling

Your role will involve face to face and telephone contact with our clients at their homes and community venues (within and around your home district) so travelling by own/public transport is required.

Working Days & Hours

Working days and hours are flexible and negotiable depending on your availability and the needs of our clients.

We'll provide induction, training, support, supervision, references and reimbursement of expenses.

Person Specification

For this role, you should be a confident team player with coaching, networking, information gathering and facilitation skills.

You should have some experience of working with vulnerable adults, a strong interest in adult learning and knowledge of personal boundaries and client confidentiality.

You will need to be reliable, flexible and resilient for face to face and telephone support work with our clients. It is essential that you have excellent people and organisational skills (including IT) for this role.
