East Surrey - New Co-Produced Peer Support

Due to new funding arrangements; which are co-produced and peer support led we have reorganised the way SPH supports our clients and services we offer.  This is an exciting time and we now need to work together to get the best out of the new service offered.

Client members now have a greater say in what goes on and what happens and encourage you to participate and help organise or suggest events to the Service User Forum Group or coordinator.  E.g. workshops, activities, talks, outings, support with handing out food bank parcels and when food is delivered putting away the delivery.  As we have limited funds, clients will sometimes have to pay for outings themselves.

Though we have to meet certain conditions regarding funding we are not tied to strict conditions as we have done in the past.

We also understand that clients want to come to peer support groups to talk to like-minded people; to gain information in a safe environment where they may feel uncomfortable elsewhere.  They can talk freely with no stigma or ignorance attached.

Please see attached calendar for the first 2 months. Activities, outings etc. this can be changed monthly.

We have two workshops in February where you can learn more about the co -produced workshops and how both staff and clients can support each other moving forward.

Our peer support services have been funded by Peoples Health Lottery and Henry Smith Charity.

The Service User Group members are Steve, Phil, Richard, Mel and Nick.  Please talk to one of them or Steph to put your idea’s forward.  We may not be able to accommodate all your ideas into play but we will try our hardest to if they are feasible.

We look forward to hearing from as many of you as possible as this is your service and if you don’t use it you may lose it.

All the information relating to peer-led support, activities etc. will be put onto the website, so please look at this regularly.  We want to empower you too engage on our website to access the information you require.
