Volunteering in West Sussex
Who can volunteer for our West Sussex service?
Our volunteering programme is accredited by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations. It is open to anyone interested in promoting social welfare, health well being and personal development for people living with HIV. We welcome people from all work, social and cultural backgrounds to join us as volunteers.
What volunteering roles are available?
We offer a range of volunteering roles, which we hope will appeal to different volunteers. Please click on these web links for more details.
Where will I work? Will I need to travel?
Your volunteer role will involve meeting people living with HIV in their homes or in community venues in and around your home area, so travel by car or public transport is required. The key locations we cover in West Sussex include:
How much time will I need to commit?
This is flexible and negotiable depending on your availability and the needs of our clients.
All our volunteers receive an induction, ongoing training, support and supervision, reimbursement for travel expenses, and references if requested.
Is there a selection process?
Our selection process usually begins with an informal chat. If you are still interested in volunteering after this chat, we will then ask you to fill in an application form. Once we have received this we will invite you in for an interview, and will also ask for references. Finally, all our volunteers are DBS checked before they begin volunteering with us.
